29th September - 6th October 2007 - Sicily
'The Rock' at Cefalu

Sicilian driving is an experience in itself, one of the many
Piaggio's...

View from our B&B down to Cefalu

What you lookin' at?

Archie and Mum...

Oliver and Dad...

If only Ryan Air didn't have baggage limits, love the horse
trike... Although think Mum is too big :)

Cefalu street sweeper, a far cry from the London versions...

Sicilians isn't about the Mafia, the food, the Volcano, the
scooters or Piaggios, it's ALL about cement!

Old men on route to Enna...

Just what tourists don't want to come up behind on the mountain roads... Poses no
problems for local drivers who don't let blind corners or oncoming
traffic prevent adrenalin filled (for us) overtaking...

Lightshow...

Leonforte, had to drive through, almost the family name...

Enna...

Gole Alcantara Parco Botanico e Geologico: Freezing water
through some
pretty incredible volcanic rock formations... Hot backs and
cold toes!

Playtime back at the hotel...

Checking out the view at Taormina...

Wedding at Taormina...

Taormina is all about the shopping...

Lonely dog :(

Last sneaky view from Taormina...

Mt Etna, complete with diggers...

Oli leaves his mark on the volcano... until the next eruption
that is.

Volcano climbing... Mum, Archie and Oliver off to a good start!

Oliver on strike... Dad and Oliver

Steaming mountain, might not have been so adventurous had we
realised last
eruption was only a month earlier...

Archie, Mum and Oliver (still on strike)...

Evening on Isola di Ortigia...

Fontane Bianche... lovely. Even had some palm trees planted for
us pasty
poms!

Noto, the place to be if you're into Baroque...

Luigi (go see Cars)...

Italians are known for their style...

Ragusa Ibla...

Nobody uses a dryer in Sicily...

Can we fit a bus down this narrow street, of course we can! (We had all side
mirrors turned in through the towns!!)

Agrigento sunrise...

Fade in Godfather music now... Corleone!

Palermo light show to see us off...
